Pousada Du Solar

I'm crazy for the tile I've been finding all over South America they're both practical and beautiful. Growing up my mother was obsessed with two things, leaving lights on in the house and hands on her beautiful white walls ... always shouting only one word... HANDS!!!!.. It irked me in ways you couldn't imagine. It didn't matter weather it was me or a friend of mine over the house for the very first time, if that friend put her... HANDS!!!!!!

So when my mom called me up a few years ago and said she was getting a new place and wanted me to come to Seattle to make it look beautiful I jumped at the opportunity to finely turn those annoying white walls into colorful happy ones.. Needless to say, her place turned out looking quite fabulous only fueling her shout more!!.. Moral of the story is... tiles are a great and easy way to add color, a specific style, and a happy home!

I loved this bathroom and wish I had a better camera to show you what this mediocre picture dose not. As to say for most of these photos... but stay tune, a new camera is in the works!

I found this dresser in the Pousada's office, but how lovely it would look in the tiled bathroom holding the sink and a soap dish!

Looks a bit like Pee Wee Herman's Play!
